A Gothic filial church of 1531 in Barnim, with a battlemented tower and interior polychromy.
The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Barnim is a stone filial church of 1531, with a tower crowned with battlements and a polychrome interior. Barnim lies in Warnice municipality, in Pyrzyce County.
The church was built in the Gothic style, of stone, on a rectangular plan, without a separate chancel. The tower is crowned with battlements and an octagonal brick spire, decorated with blind niches, and on the ground floor has a round-arched entrance portal with three steps. The nave is covered with a gabled roof, and the windows have pointed tops.
In 1903 a fire consumed the nave, which was rebuilt in 1904. The interior has a wooden ceiling, and the walls are covered with patterned polychromy. Above the entrance is a gallery supported on posts. It was blessed as a Catholic church in 1950.
It is about two kilometres to the parish church in Warnice, to which this church belongs: the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of the Church in Warnice. Further on, about five kilometres away, lies the Brodogóry nature reserve.
