A half-timbered church with hunting-style decor, rebuilt from a ruin by residents and consecrated in 1998.
The Church of St Hubert stands in Karszno, part of Nowe Warpno, and is a branch church of the parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is a small half-timbered building whose body was built in the half-timbered technique, with a neo-Gothic tower of red brick. The building is entered in the heritage register.
The date of construction is hard to establish. For a long time the year 1793 was accepted, because that date appears on the weathervane on the tower, but Swedish maps from before 1709 already show a church in Karszno, and it is not known whether it refers to the present building. The brick tower was added in the 19th century. Until 1945 the church served Protestants, and after the war it fell into ruin. In 1994 the residents brought about the start of reconstruction to a design by Danuta Konopka. The church was consecrated on 25 July 1998.
The church is built on a rectangular plan, has a straight-ended chancel and two rectangular windows in each of the side walls. The timber frame forms square panels filled with brick and plastered white. The two-storey tower ends in a terrace, an octagonal top and a helm with a weathervane. The interior has hunting-style decor: plain wooden benches, an altar resting on a forked trunk, numerous antlers and trophies. Temporary exhibitions are organised in the church, and nearby stands the palace in Karszno.
