A single-nave granite ashlar church from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries in Krąpiel, rebuilt after 1945.
The Church of St Maximilian Maria Kolbe in Krąpiel, in Stargard municipality, is a Gothic parish church from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries, entered in the heritage register. It was built of granite ashlar laid in 23 courses, and the lack of a tower stands out in its form.
It is an oriented hall church on a rectangular plan, with a narrower chancel to the east. By the north wall stands a modern sacristy. In the north and south walls of the nave there are portals with two stepped reveals, a third portal is in the west elevation, and above it a walled-up oculus. The east wall has a large window in a shallow niche with a semicircular arch, at its sides slender pointed blind arcades ending in brick arches with simple tracery, and the gable is decorated with blind arcades. The windows in the side walls were widened in the Neo-Gothic spirit.
In 1945 the church was destroyed in the military operations. The rebuilding took place in 1980-1983, the blessing took place on 10 April 1983, and the parish was established in the same year. The historic furnishings have not survived. Around the church is the site of the former cemetery, surrounded by a stone wall.
A few kilometres further stands the castle in Pęzino.
