The Church of St Adalbert in Sępolno Wielkie, a village in Biały Bór municipality in Szczecinek County, is a half-timbered building from 1685 with rich late Baroque interior furnishings. It was entered in the heritage register in 1960.

Construction

The heritage register dates the church to the 17th century and says it was built in Fachwerk, that is in half-timbered construction. The Wikipedia entry on the village gives the year 1685 and describes the interior as late Baroque.

The village

Before 1945 the village was called Seepohlen or Groß Karzenburg. In 1954-1957 it was the seat of a gromada (rural district). Here grows a pedunculate oak named Pomorzanin, declared a natural monument in 2005: it is 20 m tall, with a crown 16 m wide and a trunk with a girth of 530 cm at a height of 1.30 m. In the area, remains of the Pomeranian Wall fortifications have also survived.
