A narrow channel lake in Maszewo with a town bathing area and the history of a wooden pavilion.
Lake Maszewskie is a channel lake on the Nowogard Plain, on whose southern part the town of Maszewo lies. It covers 12.77 ha, is 1.4 km long and up to 150 m wide, and the Leśnica River flows into it from the north.
In Maszewo there is a bathing area at the lake. The shores are steep, their slopes reach 18 m in height, and the whole lake is surrounded by deciduous woodland. Apart from the beach, the shores are overgrown with reeds. According to the angling typology, it is a crucian carp lake.
The present shape of the lake is the result of building a causeway by the bridge near the mill, and water from the lake powered the mill and cooled the turbines of the power station. In the interwar period a wooden pavilion in the style of a Japanese house was built on the shore, to which the activities of the cultural centre were moved in summer. In the 1950s a pier was built, and in 1965 bathing cabins. The pavilion burned down on 19 November 1978, and the pier was destroyed then as well.
