A long, narrow lake in a glacial trough, with holiday cottages and leisure centres on the eastern shore.
Lake Wirowskie lies east of the village of Wirów, in a glacial trough, which is why it is long and narrow, with its axis running north to south. In the east an isthmus separates it from Lake Wełtyń.
The lake serves a recreational role. On the eastern shore stand holiday cottages and several leisure centres. The entry on the lake describes it as a popular place for weekend recreation for residents of Szczecin and Gryfino.
From 1895 the Gryfino to Pyrzyce line ran south of the lake, with a stop called Jezioro Wirów. Services were suspended in 1996, and in 2002 a decision was taken to close the line.
