Lighthouse Miniature Park

Ludna 16, Niechorze
About Lighthouse Miniature Park

Models of all the lighthouses of the Polish coast at a scale of 1:10, with guided tours in three languages, right next to the lighthouse in Niechorze.

The Lighthouse Miniature Park in Niechorze allows you to walk the whole Polish Baltic coast, from Krynica Morska to Świnoujście, in less than an hour. Models of lighthouses at a scale of 1:10 stand on a green site right next to the original lighthouse in Niechorze.

What you will see here

The park shows all the lighthouses operating on the Polish coast, but also historic buildings and ones that have fallen into ruin or are not open to visitors. Among the miniatures are, among others, the lighthouses of Hel, Rozewie (old and new), Stilo, Czołpino, Ustka, Jarosławiec, Darłowo, Gąski, Kołobrzeg, Niechorze, Kikut and Świnoujście, as well as the pre-war lighthouse of Krynica Morska. The list on the park's website also includes the Adlergrund lightship, the Arctowski station in Antarctica and the Hornsund station on Spitsbergen.

The number of miniatures depends on the source: the Wikipedia entry lists 29 lighthouses, and the park's website gives 50 items in its list of miniatures. The entry states that Marian Piasecki made detailed replicas, and that the models were built of weather-resistant materials.

Guided tours

Guides wait at the entrance and show visitors round in Polish, German and English, telling them about the history and importance of lighthouses for navigation. The descriptions of the past of the buildings are supplemented by information from the guides. The whole coast can be walked in about 45 minutes, and the miniatures have been set among greenery and colourful flower arrangements.

How it came about

The park in Niechorze is a branch of the Park of Miniatures of Historic Monuments of Lower Silesia in Kowary. It was opened on 19 May 2012. According to the park's website, the aim was to create a tourist and educational facility for the Euroregion and a centre of Polish lighthouse keeping. On site there are also a souvenir shop (with lighthouse motifs) and a small café, and by the entrance there is a free car park and a large coach park.
