Fishing and yacht port at the mouth of the Rega, founded in 1457, with a fish sales building and a repair basin.
Mrzeżyno Port lies at the mouth of the Rega River on the Baltic, in the Trzebiatów municipality, 18 km from Kołobrzeg. It is a small sea fishing base with a repair basin and a workshop, and a yacht marina for 40 yachts, with 30 guest moorings. The cutters of local fishermen carry the signature MRZ on their sides.
In 1457 the people of Trzebiatów dug a new, shortened channel of the Rega and founded a port here. They traded in timber, linen and grain, and imported hemp, flax, hides, herrings and wine. From 1770 the port silted up so much that most ships had to anchor in the roadstead. At the end of the 18th century shipbuilding workshops operated here: in 1781 the sailing ship Marie Charlotte was built, and in 1802 the galleon Atalanta.
In 2013-2015 quays with a total length of 429 m were modernised and, among other things, a repair basin with a slipway and a building for direct sale of fish with a cold store were built. The port has two breakwaters, the eastern one 206 m long and the western one 327.55 m long. It is managed by the Mrzeżyno Sea Port Authority, a unit of the Trzebiatów municipality. The entrance to the port is difficult because of the changeable bottom and the current of the river.
