Neo-Romanesque brick parish church in Mrzeżyno with mosaics and stained glass with maritime motifs.
The Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Mrzeżyno is a Neo-Romanesque brick church from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It is the parish church of a seaside village in Trzebiatów municipality, and its interior is decorated with mosaics and stained glass with maritime motifs.
The church was built of brick on a rectangular plan, with a chancel closed in a semicircle and an added sacristy. The windows in the side elevations have semicircular heads, and the nave is covered by a gable roof. At the west rises a four-sided tower with a saddle roof and a ridge turret topped with a ball and a cross. After the Second World War the church was consecrated as a Catholic one on 29 June 1947.
The nave is covered with a wooden barrel ceiling, and above the chancel stretches a rib-and-cross vault. On the west wall there is a choir gallery. The walls are decorated with mosaics: on the west one the scene of the conversion of St Paul, in the chancel a dove as a symbol of the Holy Spirit and a figure of St Peter. In the windows there is stained glass with the motif of “sea flowers”, made by Maria Powalisz-Bardońska.
