A Baroque parish church in Różańsko from the early 18th century, with a patron's gallery moved from Dolsko.
St Michael the Archangel's Church in Różańsko, in Dębno municipality, is a parish church and has been in the heritage register since 1957. It is a Baroque building of stone and brick, with Neo-Romanesque elements, built on a Latin cross plan.
The first church was built in 1489 on a rectangular plan, without a choir or a tower. It burnt down in 1734, and a year later a new one was built, this time with a tower. In 1872 a transept and an apse were added. After 1945 the church underwent a general renovation, in which the roof covering was changed from tiles to sheet metal.
The tower is half-timbered and ends in a lantern with double small roofs. In the south arm of the transept is an 18th-century patron's gallery, which comes from the church in Dolsko. Of the former furnishings, a Baroque polychrome pulpit from the 18th century, a 19th-century organ gallery and a font have survived. Two Classicist altars, the main and a side one, from the late 18th century, were moved from the church in nearby Ostrowiec, which was destroyed in 1945.
Since the gallery came from Dolsko, it is worth looking at the sites there: the Palace in Dolsko and the Church of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Dolsko.
