An artificial pond on the edge of the Beech Forest, skirted by a black hiking trail.
Wielecki Staw is an artificially built reservoir with an area of 2.65 ha, lying in Stare Czarnowo municipality, on the border of south-eastern Szczecin. It stands near the ponds on the Płonia, Klasztorny Pond and Cystersi Pond (Staw Klasztorny and Staw Cysterski).
The pond is about 0.4 km west of national road no. 3, on the eastern edge of Szczecin Landscape Park “Puszcza Bukowa”. The Kłobucki Stream flows through it, and the shoreline is over 2 km long. The former German name, Wendsche See, means the Wendish Lake, that is, the Slavic one.
On the north-eastern shore, from 1956 to 1964, there was the Nad Wieleckim Stawem nature reserve (4.0 ha), which protected a fragment of oak, pine and beech forest. Today a black hiking trail runs around the pond.
