George Michael: The Faith Tour

The film “George Michael: The Faith Tour” will be screened at the cinema in Drawsko Pomorskie on 06.11.2026 at 8:30 PM. This restored and remastered production is based on lost footage that has never been shown before. It is backed by George Michael Entertainment and Mercury Studios.

The directors are long-time collaborators of the artist, Andy Morahan and David Austin. The film was made from material shot at Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy during the European leg of the Faith Tour in 1988. It was edited from footage recorded with 14 cameras on 35 mm film over two nights, showing the 24-year-old singer at the peak of his career. Morahan has directed many music videos and worked with Michael, as well as with McCartney, Elton John, Bryan Adams, Mariah Carey, Tina Turner, Pet Shop Boys, Cyndi Lauper and Aretha Franklin, among others. Austin was a friend of the artist, manages his estate, and co-directed and co-produced the 2017 documentary “George Michael: Freedom”.

The album “Faith”, almost entirely written, arranged, produced and performed by Michael, won him a Grammy for “Album of the Year”. Four singles from the record, “Faith”, “Father Figure”, “One More Try” and “Monkey”, reached number one on the American chart, making Michael the only British solo artist with four such singles from one album on the Billboard Hot 100. The album sold over 25 million copies and reached number one in 10 countries.

The artist gained fame in the 1980s with the duo Wham!, selling over 30 million records, and as a solo artist he sold over 125 million. He topped the Billboard Hot 100 eight times and the British singles chart seven times. From 1984 to 2004 he was the most played artist on British radio. He released his last studio album in 2004 and his last live album in 2014. He died in 2016 at the age of 53.
