The Other Mother

“The Other Mother” is a horror film directed by Rob Savage, the creator of “Boogeyman”. It was produced with James Wan and the studio Blumhouse Atomic Monster, which are also behind “Backrooms” and “Obsession”. The story follows Bela, a young girl who forms a bond with a sinister being that appears in the house and looks strikingly like her mother.

Oscar® winner Jessica Chastain plays a dual role: Bela’s mother and the hostile being. Jay Duplass plays the father, and Arabella Olivia Clark plays Bela. The screenplay was written by Nathan Elston, a WGA Award winner and writer of “Succession”.

The film is based on Josh Malerman’s novel “Something Is Happening in Our House”, which appeared on The New York Times bestseller list. The producer is James Wan, known for the “Saw”, “Insidious” and “The Conjuring” franchises, and the executive producers are Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Rob Savage, Josh Malerman and Ryan Lewis.
