“The Sleeping Beauty”

The Royal Classical Ballet, led by Marcin Rolczyński, presents “The Sleeping Beauty” to Pyotr Tchaikovsky's music in the cinema hall in Drawsko Pomorskie. The story follows Princess Aurora, who is cursed by the wicked fairy Carabosse during celebrations held in her honour. On her birthday, the princess pricks herself with a spindle and falls into a deep sleep, and the whole palace falls asleep with her, waiting for courage, goodness and true love to break the spell. The performance transports audiences to a world of royal courts, fairies and enchanted gardens. The announcement highlights the classical choreography, costumes and Tchaikovsky's music. The production includes lyrical scenes, technically demanding solo parts and elaborate ensemble dances, and each scene builds the atmosphere of a grand fairy tale in which good battles evil. Under the direction of Marcin Rolczyński, the Royal Classical Ballet preserves the tradition of classical ballet in an accessible form. The show is aimed at dance enthusiasts, at those attending a ballet for the first time, and at whole families.
