About Beech avenue from Jacinki to Nacław

Natural monument: about 400 old beeches along road 206 between Jacinki and Nacław, forming a tunnel about 5 km long.

The beech avenue from Jacinki to Nacław is a historic row of old beeches along voivodeship road no. 206 in the Polanów municipality. About 400 trees form a dense tunnel about 5 km long. The avenue is a natural monument and is entered in the heritage register.

What makes the avenue distinctive

The trees are about 200 years old. The thickest specimens have a circumference of about 400 cm at breast height. For lining roads, maples, horse chestnuts, limes or oaks were usually used, and beech avenues were a rarity, so a natural monument of this kind is among the few in Poland. The heritage register dates the avenue to the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries, so the age given in studies varies.

The second avenue and the area

From road 206, between Jacinki and Nacław, a second beech avenue branches off, also a monument. It runs along a field road to Dadzewo and Rosocha. In Nacław stands a palace, and in nearby Polanów two churches, among them the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Practical information

  • The avenue runs along voivodeship road 206 on the Jacinki - Nacław section (Polanów municipality), so it is a stretch with car traffic.
  • For a drive or a walk along the verge it is best to choose a day with good visibility.
