Strict forest reserve in the Beech Forest with Pomeranian beech woodland, alder carr and a yellow trail along the boundary.
The Buczynowe Wąwozy reserve, named after Professor Florian Celiński, lies in the eastern part of the Beech Forest, within the Szczecin Landscape Park “Puszcza Bukowa”, in the Stare Czarnowo municipality. It covers 56.53 ha and its whole area is under strict protection.
The reserve was established on 30 May 1956, and in 2005 it was enlarged and given the name of the geobotanist Florian Celiński. It protects the best developed Pomeranian beech woodland community and an alder riparian forest, whose finest patches grow by the Kłobucki Stream. The terrain is varied: hills with steep slopes are cut by deep valleys. Growing here are, among others, the common hepatica, coralroot bittercress and the violet helleborine, and among the birds living here are the black stork, the black woodpecker and the red-breasted flycatcher.
Along the eastern boundary of the reserve, along the Bieszczadzka Road in the valley of the Kłobucki Stream, runs the yellow Buczynowe Wąwozy Trail. Two kilometres to the west lies the Kołowskie Parowy reserve. The reserve is about 2.5 km south-south-west of the Szczecin-Śmierdnica estate and 1.5 km north of Dobropole Gryfińskie.
