A Gothic church from the 15th century in Obryta, destroyed in the Second World War and rebuilt in 1994-1998 from the surviving walls.
The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Grace in Obryta (Warnice municipality, Pyrzyce County) has its roots in the 15th century. Destroyed during the Second World War, it was rebuilt from the surviving walls and today again serves as a filial church.
The church was built in the 15th century as a Gothic building of stone and brick, on a rectangular plan. In the 18th century and in the middle of the 19th century it was extended, and in the middle of the 19th century the body of the nave was rebuilt in an arcaded style. On the west side a tower with pointed blind arches and a pyramidal roof adjoins the nave, and on its ground floor there is a Neo-Gothic pointed portal. A porch was added to the side wall. Before 1945 it was a Protestant church.
The war left of the church the perimeter walls of the nave, the porch and the tower. The rebuilding was carried out in 1994-1998 to a design by the engineer Zbigniew Urbańczyk, and the blessing took place in 2001. The interior is covered with a wooden ceiling. The building is entered in the heritage register, which dates it to the 15th century.
In the area lies, among others, the Brodogóry nature reserve, about 2.6 km from the church.
