A neo-Romanesque church of red brick in Wirów, with stained glass from 1975 and a free-standing bell tower.
The Church of St Anne in Wirów, in Gryfino municipality, is a neo-Romanesque church of red brick, a branch church of the parish in Wełtyń. Wikipedia gives the turn of the 20th century for its date, and the heritage register the second half of the 19th century.
The church stands on a rectangular plan and has a gable roof, and neither a chancel nor a tower is separated out. The gables are decorated with blind arcading and pinnacles, and above the entrance door in the front elevation are three windows closed by pointed arches. The square around it, fenced with a stone wall, holds a free-standing bell tower.
The ceiling is flat and beamed, and above the entrance is a wooden music gallery supported on posts. The paintings in the altar (St Anne with the Virgin and Child, St Anthony, St Isidore) were painted in 1960 by Stanisław Kostynowicz, and the stained glass in the windows was made in 1975 by Maria Powalisz-Bardońska. The church was consecrated as a Catholic one on 6 June 1946.
