Half-timbered church of 1732 in Kąkolewice with a pulpit altar of 1799 and a former cemetery with the tomb of the von Borcke family.
The Church of St Joseph in Kąkolewice, in Węgorzyno municipality, was built in 1732 in half-timbered technique on a stone foundation. It is a branch of the parish in Sielsko.
The church has a rectangular plan, closed on the east side by a five-sided chancel. The portal and windows are rectangular. A half-timbered tower set into the western part of the roof was taken down in the interwar period.
The flat ceiling is wooden, and above the entrance stands an 18th-century wooden gallery supported on pillars. The church holds a former Baroque pulpit altar of 1799, altered and without its pulpit basket, as well as a crucifix and two candlesticks from the 19th century. The former cemetery around the church has an 18th-century tomb of the von Borcke family and a 19th-century burial chapel. In 1988 a frame bell tower with a bell of 1838 was put up here. After the war the church was consecrated as a Catholic church on 16 September 1945. It is a few kilometres from here to Węgorzyno, where the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands.
