A half-timbered church from 1737 with a free-standing wooden tower, a late Baroque altar and a burial crypt.
The Church of St Matthew the Apostle in Gardno was built in 1737, founded by the then owner of the village, Augustin Heinrich von Borck. The heritage register regards it as Baroque. It is a branch of the parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Węgorzyno. Gardno in Łobez County is a different village from Gardno in Gryfino County.
The church has half-timbered construction on a stone foundation, a rectangular plan and a gabled roof. The portal and windows are rectangular. On the west side stands a free-standing wooden tower on a quadrangular plan, with an octagonal lantern and helm roof. Next to the church stands a monument to those who fell in the First World War.
The ceiling is flat and wooden. Above the entrance there is a gallery, and a second, horseshoe-shaped one is behind the altar, above the sacristy. The altar is wooden and late Baroque. Under the floor in the middle of the nave there is a burial crypt. After the Second World War the church was consecrated as a Catholic church on 21 September 1947.
