A Gothic church from the 15th century in Sąpolnica, with gables with blind arcading and traces of polychrome, rebuilt after a wartime ruin.
The Church of St Maximilian Maria Kolbe in Sąpolnica, in Nowogard municipality, dates from the 15th century and represents the Gothic style. It is a branch church of the parish in Nowogard. After the Second World War it stood in ruins and was rebuilt.
The single-nave church on a rectangular plan was built of erratic boulders. The east and west gables are decorated with blind arcading and pinnacles, and in the blind arches and the cornice band remnants of polychrome with plant and geometric ornament have survived. In the south wall is a portal that was bricked up in the 19th century. The square tower on the west side also dates from the 19th century, of stone in its lower part and of brick higher up, with two gables with blind arcading and a pointed spire.
The church was rebuilt in 1974, and on 5 October 1975 it was consecrated as a Catholic one. The furnishings of the interior are entirely modern.
