A stone and brick church from around 1600, with a Renaissance portal, an altar and pulpit from the 18th century and a brick tower.
The Church of St Peter and St Paul in Ognica, in Dobrzany municipality, was built around 1600. Formerly Protestant, it is today a Catholic branch church of the parish in Dobrzany and is entered in the heritage register.
The church was built on a rectangular plan of stone and brick. The nave has a Renaissance portal, and the east gable is decorated with blind niches. A brick tower adjoins it on the west side. Zabytek.pl gives the style as Gothic and dates the building to the early 16th century, while the Wikipedia entry gives around 1600.
The ceiling is wooden. An altar and a pulpit from the 18th century have survived, and on the west wall there is a choir gallery. After the Second World War the church was consecrated as a Catholic church on 29 June 1946.
It is about four kilometres to Dobrzany with the Church of St Michael the Archangel, and at a distance of two kilometres lies Lake Sierakowskie.
