A 15th-century granite church in Klęskowo, rebuilt in 1976-1979 and extended with a new nave after 1995.
The Church of St Stanislaus the Bishop and Martyr stands in Klęskowo in Szczecin, on Kolorowych Domów Street. It is a medieval church of granite boulders, rebuilt after wartime ruin and extended on the west side at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The church was built in the second half of the 15th century on the site of an older church, first mentioned in 1359. Until 1534 it was Catholic, and then it was taken over by Protestants. The building of granite boulders, without a separate chancel, had a rectangular plan measuring 20.8 by 9.4 metres. In 1697 a wooden tower was added, and in 1896 a thorough renovation was carried out, with the ceilings, roof and windows changed. In 1937 medieval frescoes were discovered on the south wall. During the Second World War the church was seriously damaged, the wooden tower burned down completely and the historic furnishings were lost.
The ruin was rebuilt in 1976-1979: a new ceiling and roof were put in place, and a sacristy was added at the north-west corner. The church was consecrated on 25 January 1979 as Roman Catholic, under the patronage of St Stanislaus. In 1985 stained-glass windows were installed, and in 1995-2002 a widened nave was added on the west side to a design by the engineer Maciej Płotkowiak.
