17, Kluki
About Church of St Thérèse of the Child Jesus in Kluki

Stone church of the 15th century in Kluki with a wooden tower added in 1889 and two gravestones of the 14th century.

The Church of St Thérèse of the Child Jesus in Kluki, in Przelewice municipality, was built presumably in the second half of the 15th century. The heritage register gives the end of the 15th century. It is a stone building on a rectangular plan, with brick finishes and a gabled roof.

From Protestant to Catholic

From 1534 the church was Protestant and belonged to the parish in Kosin. In 1889 the church was rebuilt: a square, wooden tower with a spire was added above the western part of the nave. After the war, on 2 September 1945, it was reconsecrated as a Catholic church.

Interior

The ceiling is wooden, on the west wall stands a wooden choir gallery, and 19th-century pews have survived in the nave. Two gravestones of the 14th century lie in the church. The former altar of 1700 has not survived to this day. In the area there is the dendrological garden in Przelewice.
