A neo-Gothic brick church in Konarzewo with a three-storey tower, a neo-Gothic altar and pulpit, and an organ from 1889.
The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Konarzewo, in Karnice municipality in Gryfice County, is a neo-Gothic brick church. Wikipedia gives the year of construction as 1887, while the heritage register dates the building to 1889. The plan is rectangular, the chancel ends in a straight wall, and the roof is gabled.
In the side walls of the nave run two rows of windows: the lower ones round, the upper ones semicircular-headed. On the west side stands a three-storey tower with an octagonal spire and a cross. The interior is covered by a wooden beamed ceiling. The choir gallery runs along three walls, and the organ on it dates from 1889. From the original furnishings the pews, pulpit and altar have remained, and the altar now holds a painting of the Immaculate Conception. On the walls hang bas-relief Stations of the Cross, and the stained-glass windows show the symbols of the seven sacraments and the logo of the Jubilee Year 2000.
The church was consecrated as a Catholic one on 8 December 1945; it is a parish church.
From Konarzewo it is not far to the coast, where the Niechorze Lighthouse stands.
