A single-nave granite ashlar church from the second half of the 13th century in Sosnowo, left in ruins after the war and restored in 1987, with early Gothic windows.
The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Sosnowo is a branch church in Banie municipality, Gryfino County. It belongs to the parish of Christ the King in Lubanowo, and it was built in the second half of the 13th century.
The church is a single-nave building of granite ashlar on a rectangular plan measuring 15 by 7 metres, closed on the east side by a straight wall. In the second half of the 18th century a tower was added, and its brick and stone base survives. The south elevation keeps three original narrow early Gothic windows, beside which stand three Neo-Gothic windows from the 19th century. The north wall shows the trace of the original portal, now bricked up, and the walls are decorated with blind windows. Around the church lies the site of a former cemetery with a stone wall and a brick gate.
After 1945 the church went unused and fell into ruin. In 1987 it was renovated and the first Mass after the war was held in it, and on 7 December 1991 it was consecrated. The historic interior furnishings have not survived. The church is entered in the heritage register.
Close by are the church in Lubanowo and the church in Rożnowo.
