Neo-Gothic brick church of 1901-1902 in the Przytór district of Świnoujście, built for a Protestant parish and blessed as a Catholic church after the war.
The Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is a historic Neo-Gothic brick church in the Przytór district of Świnoujście. The heritage register dates it to 1901-1902. It was built for the local Protestant parish, and after the war, on 19 May 1946, it was blessed.
The time of construction is given in different ways: the year 1895 or the years 1901-1902. The new church turned out to be too small for all the faithful. After 1979 a new presbytery was added on the west side. Today it belongs to the Świnoujście deanery in the Archdiocese of Szczecin-Kamień.
The oriented building stands on a rectangular plan. On the east it has a chancel with a five-sided end, and on the west a square tower with a conical spire topped with a ball and a cross. The interior is a single space, with a wooden gallery on the west and south, on which stands an organ from the early 20th century. The chancel is vaulted and decorated with three pointed-arch stained-glass windows, the middle one showing the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The high altar has the form of a triptych with wooden figures: the cross with Christ is flanked by Our Lady of Sorrows and St John the Apostle. In the side altars hang paintings, among them a scene with the apostles on the Sea of Galilee and an image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. There is also a stone font in the church.
In the area of Przytór lie the Vineta Coastal Artillery Battery Complex and Lake Wicko Wielkie.
