A stone church from the 13th century in Strzeszów, with a neo-Gothic tower from 1897 and a Renaissance epitaph in the nave.
The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Strzeszów was built in the second half of the 13th century. It is a branch church of the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Trzcińsko-Zdrój, in Trzcińsko-Zdrój municipality.
The church is a hall church in the form of an elongated rectangle measuring 28.7 by 10.5 metres, built of stone ashlar. It is surrounded by an obliquely chamfered plinth and a profiled stone cornice. The windows are narrow and pointed: three in the east wall and six in each of the side walls. The original portals, probably in the west and south elevations, have been bricked up.
A half-timbered tower was added in 1739, but it collapsed in 1777. The present brick tower in neo-Gothic style was built in 1897.
Under the wooden ceiling a Renaissance epitaph of M. Schilling with a scene of the Crucifixion has survived, and a bell from 1579 hangs in the tower. Adjoining the church is a cemetery surrounded by a wall with two neo-Gothic gates topped with crenellation.
The nearest town is Trzcińsko-Zdrój, where the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help stands.
