A Neo-Gothic church of 1884 of stone and brick, with furnishings from the time of its construction, an organ by the Grüneberg firm and a bell from the Voss foundry.
The Church of the Patronage of St Joseph in Stawno, in Goleniów municipality, was built in 1884 in the Neo-Gothic style. It was originally a filial church of the Lutheran parish in Przemocze, and today it belongs to the parish in Goleniów. It has been entered in the heritage register since 2017.
The single-nave church on a rectangular plan was built of worked granite of irregular shapes and red brick. The chancel with its side annexes and the upper storeys of the tower are entirely of brick. The facade is decorated with friezes and blind arches, and the east gable carries a weathervane with the date of construction, 1884. The pointed windows of the chancel have stained glass.
The altar, pulpit, organ case and pews date from the time the church was built. The organ was made by the well-known Szczecin firm of the Grüneberg family, and the bell in the tower was cast by the Szczecin foundry C. Voss & Sohn. By the nave wall stands a wooden gallery. The tower also holds the tomb slab of a resident of the village of Karlsbach, today Strumiany, killed in the First World War.
Next to the church is a former German cemetery, also entered in the heritage register, with a figure of the Virgin Mary and a boulder commemorating those killed in the First World War. Protection also covers the old oak trees and the metal fence.
It is about four and a half kilometres to the church in Przemocze, and about seven to the church in Mosty.
