A branch church in Chełm Dolny from the 13th century, rebuilt in neo-Gothic style in 1908, with a cemetery and a lapidarium.
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Chełm Dolny (Trzcińsko-Zdrój municipality) dates from the second half of the 13th century. In the 16th century it became a Lutheran church, and it was reconsecrated as a Catholic one in 1947. It is a branch church of the parish in Warnice.
The present appearance is largely the result of a thorough rebuilding in neo-Gothic style in 1908. That was when the west elevation, the east gable, the tower with a sacristy on its ground floor (added on the south side) and the portals were made. The tower has a pavilion roof. The interior is covered by a flat, wooden ceiling, and no historic furnishings have survived.
The church is surrounded by a former cemetery with a stone wall and three neo-Gothic gates. There are a lapidarium with old gravestones, the relics of the burial chapel of the von Tresckow family and a monument to the villagers killed in the First World War.
