A Neo-Romanesque fieldstone church of 1911 in Czarne Wielkie, with a bell of 1767 cast by a founder from Kołobrzeg.
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Czarne Wielkie (Drawsko County) is a modest fieldstone church, built in 1911 in the Neo-Romanesque style. It stands in the centre of a village with a historic spatial layout and is surrounded by a brick wall.
The church was built as a Protestant church. It was blessed as a Catholic church on 12 June 1947. The interior was renovated in 2008.
The oldest item of furnishing is a cup-shaped bell from the second half of the 18th century, hung on a six-armed crown in the form of grotesque human heads. The inscription on the body gives the date 1767 and the name of the bell founder Johan Meyer of Kołobrzeg. It refers to the village, which was then known by the German name Gross Schwartz Ensee. The bell is also decorated with a band of plant and auricular ornament and a band with a lily motif.
In the area stands the Church of Our Lady Queen of Poland in Polne, about 2.6 km from here, and further on lies the Drawsko Landscape Park.
