Neo-Gothic church from the late 19th century with a stone-and-brick tower, standing in the Kołowo glade in the Beech Forest, with gravestones in the chancel floor.
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus stands on the slope of a rise in the centre of Kołowo, a village in a broad glade among the forests of the Beech Forest (Puszcza Bukowa). It was built at the end of the 19th century of brick and stone, and today it is a branch of the parish in Szczecin's Podjuchy district.
The church has a rectangular plan with a chancel closed on the east side by five sides and a four-sided tower on the west side. The tower is of stone in its lower part and of brick higher up, decorated with friezes, small windows and pinnacles, and is covered by a slender, six-sided helmet. At the base of the tower is a brick entrance portal.
Of the original furnishings a neo-baroque pulpit, a gallery on the west wall and wooden pews have survived. In the chancel floor lie three old gravestones: of the Kołbacz abbot Jan Jordani of 1395, of a ducal master of the horse of 1615 and of a master of the hunt of 1773. The original altar was lost, and the present one was made from an organ case. Adjoining the church is a cemetery from the mid-19th century, surrounded by a stone wall. After the war the church was blessed as a Catholic church in 1949.
