Dziwnów Port

Dziwnów
About Dziwnów Port

A sea and fishing port in Dziwnów with two breakwaters, a passenger quay and seasonal cruises to Kamień Pomorski.

Dziwnów Port is a sea and fishing port in Dziwnów, on the spit between the Dziwna Strait, the Baltic shore and the Kamień Lagoon. Two breakwaters guard the entrance from the sea, and ships that sail in the summer season to Kamień Pomorski and out to sea moor at the passenger quay. The port also has a sea border crossing.

Location and status

The port lies on a long spit between the Dziwna Strait and the sea on one side and the Kamień Lagoon on the other. It was formally established in 1963. The water area within the port's administrative limits covers 0.5025 sq km. Ships calling at the port may be at most 60 m long and 11.5 m wide.

Breakwaters and quays

The entrance from the sea is sheltered by two breakwaters: the eastern one 356 m long and the western one 342 m long. The depth along the axis of the channel is 4 m. The Winter Basin is a berth for fishing vessels and a shelter for sea-going vessels during storms, and a permanent berth for coastal rescue ships. The mooring and loading quay and part of the passenger quay are used by fishing cutters registered in the port. The new mooring quay is reserved for sports vessels only.

Cruises and the drawbridge

The passenger quay is a berth for ships that run regular cruises in the summer season to Kamień Pomorski and out to sea. About 350 m east of the Winter Basin a road bridge crosses the Dziwna Strait, see Dziwnów Drawbridge. The lifting span opens at every even hour of the day if vessels have reported that they wish to pass.
