Greek Catholic Church of St Michael the Archangel in Szczecinek

The Church of St Michael the Archangel in Szczecinek is a Greek Catholic parish church on Karlińska Street. It is a new building, erected in 2010-2015, not a former church taken over by the parish.

Construction

Construction began on 6 June 2010. By 2011 the main dome and the roof were completed, and in 2012 the ceiling, heating and floors were done. On the roof stand characteristic onion domes. The interior was to be furnished in accordance with the rules of the Eastern Christian tradition.

Arson and consecration

On 6 January 2014, during the Greek Catholic Christmas, the church was set on fire for religious motives. The church was consecrated on 12 September 2015. The act was performed by Bishop Włodzimierz Juszczak, ordinary of the Wrocław-Gdańsk Eparchy.
