The Gustaw Holoubek Bench in Międzyzdroje is a monument in the form of a bench, unveiled on 3 July 2008. The sculpture shows the actor sitting on a bench and reaching for a cigarette.
The work is by the sculptor Michał Selerowski, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, who also made the benches of Hanka Bielicka in Łomża and Dr Józef Psarski in Ostrołęka. The unveiling took place in the presence of the actor's wife and his son.
Gustaw Holoubek (1923-2008) was a theatre and film actor, a director and a theatre manager, and also president of the Association of Polish Theatre and Film Artists. The bench was unveiled in the year of his death.
The Walk of Fame (Promenada Gwiazd) was separated from Bohaterów Warszawy Street in 1996, after the Summer Festival of Stars in Międzyzdroje. Along it, in a small square, lie slabs with the handprints of well-known figures of the Polish cultural scene. Not far away also stands the Church of St Peter the Apostle.
