Bench with a figure of General Józef Haller, unveiled in 2021 in Hallerczyków Square in front of the barracks of the 12th Mechanised Brigade.
The Józef Haller Bench is a monument to the General in the form of a bench with a figure, standing in Hallerczyków Square in Szczecin, in front of the gate of the barracks of the 12th Mechanised Brigade. It was unveiled on 14 May 2021.
The patron of the brigade is General Józef Haller, and the unveiling was combined with the 25th anniversary of the unit's creation. The idea came from the brigade's education section, which cooperated with the Szczecin branch of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN).
The sculpture was made by Dorota Dziekiewicz-Pilich, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. The figure of the General was modelled on an old photograph, presumably taken in Zakopane in 1920, and the bench was made to resemble the original as closely as possible.
