A reinforced-concrete pier 220 m long in the Spa District of Kołobrzeg, opened in 1971 after a wooden pier of 1881.
The Kołobrzeg Pier is a reinforced-concrete pier in the Spa District, at the extension of Mickiewicza Street. It lies by the Bałtyk sanatorium and the Jan Szymański Boulevard, near Stefan Żeromski Park, which is the spa park. The present pier was officially opened on 19 June 1971.
The structure is 220 m long and 9 m wide. The promenade deck is about 4.5 m above sea level. At the end is a two-level pier head, which can be used as a landing stage for small excursion boats. In 2014 the pier underwent a general renovation and was reopened on 27 November of that year; among other things, decorative lighting was installed during the work.
The first pier was built in 1881 by the Strandschloß sanatorium (Beach Castle, Coastal Palace). It was a wooden T-shaped structure about a hundred metres long, with a landing stage for small sailing vessels at the end. The pier was destroyed during the Second World War.
A walk through the seaside part of the spa begins at the pier. Nearby stands the Monument to Poland's Wedding to the Sea, about 300 m further on, and in the spa park Stefan Żeromski Park. About 600 m from the pier lies the Kołobrzeg Lighthouse.
