The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Wałcz is a Greek Catholic church in a former Lutheran hospital chapel with a mortuary, built in 1923-1924. The Greek Catholic parish in Wałcz has existed since 1959 and belongs to the Wrocław-Koszalin Eparchy, Poznań deanery. The building is entered in the heritage register.
The brick church represents an eclectic style with a predominance of Neo-Romanesque elements. Inside stands a modern iconostasis, made by the Ukrainian icon painter Valentyna Biriukovych (Walentyna Biriukowicz).
On the east wall a bas-relief of the 1920s has been set into the masonry, commemorating those who fell in the First World War. It shows Christ comforting a young woman with a child, a soldier's widow. Originally the names of the fallen were also placed on the wall.
The second church in Wałcz, an Orthodox one, is the Church of the Holy Trinity, in a former cemetery chapel.
