About St Joseph the Worker's Church in Rybokarty

A church from the 15th century with a tower from 1690, a Baroque altar with a Crucifixion scene and a pulpit with a canopy.

St Joseph the Worker's Church in Rybokarty is a church from the 15th century, listed in the heritage register. It is a filial church of the parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Gryfice.

Stone, brick and a half-timbered tower

The oriented hall church is built of stone and brick, and was partly rebuilt in the 18th century. The east gable is decorated with pointed-arch blind windows, a sacristy was added on the south-east side, and the grounds are surrounded by a stone wall. The tower by the west façade dates from 1690: the lower storey is of stone, the upper one half-timbered, and the whole is covered by an octagonal Baroque spire.

Interior

The interior has a wooden beamed ceiling, a wall-mounted pulpit with a canopy, a choir gallery with an organ case and a Baroque altar. At its centre is a Crucifixion scene, in the predella the Last Supper, and in the crowning the Entombment. The Gothic triptych that once stood here was moved to the church in Gryfice after 1945.
