Forest reserve of 155 ha in the Beech Forest, with a junction of trails and an educational path with 12 stops.
The Źródliskowa Buczyna forest reserve, named after Jerzy Jackowski, covers 155.44 ha. It lies on the southern slopes of the Beech Hills and partly in a depression by Lake Glinna, 5 km west-north-west of Stare Czarnowo, within the Szczecin Landscape Park “Puszcza Bukowa”. It was established on 30 May 1956 and enlarged in 2005.
The aim of protection is to preserve a complex of beech woods, riparian forests and alder carrs in terrain of great variety of relief. In the eastern part stretches a plateau reaching 80 m above sea level, with steep slopes dropping by 20 to 40 metres. The interior of the forest is shaded and damp, and lime-loving mosses grow on the stones by the streams. A rare spring beech wood with orchids occurs here, and protected plants include the red helleborine, the bird's-nest orchid and the common hepatica.
On the north-eastern edge of the reserve, on the side of the dendrological garden, lies a junction of marked trails. The Stanisław Pawelski Trail, the Bolesław Czwójdziński Trail and the Sequoia Trail begin here. The blue Stanisław Groński Trail also runs through the reserve. There is an educational path: a loop 4 km long with 12 stops and information boards.
At the junction of trails stands an erratic boulder with a plaque in honour of Jerzy Jackowski, a forester and activist of the League for the Protection of Nature. It has a circumference of 4.6 m and a height of 1.4 m and is of pink, coarse-grained granite. Two other boulders of the same granite lie beside it. In the area there is also the Arboretum in Glinna.
