The concert “One Day a Year” is a festive evening of Christmas carols by Czerwone Gitary and songs by Seweryn Krajewski. It is inspired by the album “One Day in the Year,” recorded by Czerwone Gitary in 1976, which includes the carol “There is one day, only one, once a year...”.
RETRO GITARY will perform songs from that album, including “Honored Host,” “Star on a Stick,” “Lullaby for a Little Crumb,” and “A Year Passes,” in new holiday arrangements. The programme also features newer compositions by Seweryn Krajewski from his solo collaborations with other artists, including Andrzej Piaseczny. The band recorded these arrangements on the album “There Is Such a Day...”.
On stage: Piotr Huegel (vocals) and Krzysztof Zaborniak (guitar). Singing Christmas carols together is meant to give the evening a Wigilia (Christmas Eve) atmosphere.
