The Adam Mickiewicz Monument stands in Szczecin on Mickiewicz Square, near the Stefan Żeromski Park. Its author is Sławomir Lewiński, and it was unveiled on 3 May 1960.

Where it came from

The monument was commissioned and paid for by the Culture Department of the Provincial National Council in Szczecin, as part of the celebrations of the Millennium of the Polish State. It was placed on the site where, before 1945, a monument to Emperor Frederick III had stood.
