A 15th-century tower in the south-eastern corner of the defensive walls of Mieszkowice, with a passage cut through in 1875.
The Gunpowder Tower is a 15th-century tower in Mieszkowice, part of the town's outer defensive wall. It stands in its south-eastern corner and is one of the remains of the former fortifications.
The tower was built in the 15th century and had military significance. In 1875 both complexes of town gates in Mieszkowice were pulled down, and a passage opening was cut through the Gunpowder Tower. According to the Wikipedia entry, 16 horseshoe-shaped bay-type towers and 15 rectangular ones, the Gunpowder Tower and a walled-up passage by the former Moryń Gate have survived in the town today. A large part of the walls and towers is dilapidated.
