About Bolesław the Wrymouth Trail

Yellow trail through the Beech Hills from the Oaks of Bolesław the Wrymouth to Płonia and Struga.

The Bolesław the Wrymouth Trail is a yellow walking trail of a suburban character in the Szczecin Landscape Park “Puszcza Bukowa”, 13.6 km long. It begins at the monumental “Oaks of Bolesław the Wrymouth” in Szczecin-Klęskowo, at Chłopska Street.

Route

The trail leads through the wooded Beech Hills: the natural monument “Sightseers' Boulder” (Głaz Krajoznawców; 2.8 km), the Kołówko woodland tract, the hill Lisica with a mast on Kołowo (4.8 km) and the Lwia Paszcza tract (7.1 km). In Szczecin-Płonia, at Klonowa Street, stands a half-timbered church from the second half of the 15th century, and beside it the natural monument “St Otto's Lime” (Lipa św. Ottona). End of the route: Szczecin-Struga, Szosa Stargardzka Street.

Bolesław III the Wrymouth (1085-1138) joined West Pomerania to Poland, and in 1124 he brought Bishop Otto of Bamberg here. Nearby lie the Kołowskie Parowy Nature Reserve (about 3 km) and Klęskowo Forest Park.
