Masonry church of the 15th century in the Wieprz suburb of Darłowo, formerly a hospital church, today in the care of the Franciscans.
The Church of St George in Darłowo is a small single-nave church from the 15th century, standing in the former Wieprz suburb, not far from the marketplace and the former tower of the town defences. Today it is an auxiliary church of the parish of Our Lady of Częstochowa and is in the care of the Conventual Franciscan friars.
It formerly had two hospitals attached: the Holy Spirit hospital, in which poor and sick people stayed, and the hospital of St Jürgen, where mainly lepers were treated. The Holy Spirit hospital was looked after by a women's order of Carthusian nuns. The church was blessed in 1502 by Bishop Marcin Karith, and renovated in 1599 and in the 17th century. In 1623 the bells from the Church of St Gertrude were moved to it.
The building is masonry, plastered, single-nave and buttressed, and on the west side has a tower on a square plan. During the renovation of the Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes the church served as an exhibition pavilion in which part of the museum's collections was shown.
