A brick parish church of 1879-1890 in Dygowo, with a tower and an arcaded frieze, built on the site of a church known since 1276.
The Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Dygowo (Kołobrzeg County) was built in 1879-1890 of red brick. It stands on the site of an earlier church, which is known from at least 1276. It is entered in the heritage register.
The church is oriented, on a rectangular plan, on a stone foundation, with a triangular chancel on the east. At the main entrance, on the west, rises a three-storey tower with blind arches, ending in a pyramidal helm roof. An arcaded frieze runs around the walls. The encyclopedia entry calls the building Neo-Gothic, and the heritage register Neo-Romanesque.
The church was blessed on 30 May 1946, and the parish was established on 1 June 1951. The interior has a working organ on a gallery supported on wooden posts. The altar rails separating the chancel from the nave have survived, and the altar contains relics.
In the area stand the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Czernin, about 3 km from here, and the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Rusowo.
