A Neoclassical house of the marksmen's guild from 1861 in Panorama Park, today a restored venue for balls and banquets.
The Shooting House, also called the Panorama Palace or the former House of the Marksmen's Guild (Bractwo Kurkowe), stands in Stargard on the edge of Panorama Park, at Ochronna 9. The complex of three buildings was built in 1861. The largest of them is a two-storey building with two wings, with an impressive projection and a five-arched portico on the ground floor. The register of monuments describes its style as Neoclassical.
Until 1945 the building was managed by the Marksmen's Guild, and the house served its members as a meeting place. Nearby was a shooting range, on which in 1936 the shooting qualifiers for the Berlin Olympic Games were held. During the war the palace housed a field hospital. In 1958 the buildings were leased to the National Defence League, and in the east wing the Panorama cinema and concert hall operated, in which, among others, Czerwone Gitary and Czesław Niemen performed.
In 1970 the roof over the cinema hall collapsed, and the wing with the cinema was closed and in 1988 demolished. For over a dozen years the building decayed. Today it is privately owned, has been restored and serves as a venue for balls and banquets. Nearby stand the Arsenal and the Granary.
