Square ramparts and remains of walls of the former castle of the von Plötz family from the mid-13th century in Buk near Goleniów.
The hillfort of the von Plötz castle lies in Buk in Goleniów County and is the remnant of the first stronghold that the von Plötz family built as their family seat in the mid-13th century.
The defensive system consisted of ramparts on a square plan with sides of 44 metres, heaped up to a height of 4 metres. About 2.5 metres below their crest lay the inner courtyard, and in the middle stood a residential building 20 metres long. The von Plötz family used the castle as their seat until 1380, and the last mention of the “old castle” dates from 1587. In the 17th century it fell into ruin.
According to the zamki.pl website, the ramparts and the remains of the walls of the residential building survive to this day. In the 14th century the Flemming family built a new stronghold nearby, recalled by the Flemming manor house in Buk, about 300 m from the hillfort.
