A Jewish cemetery from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries in Barlinek, on a rise called Żydowska Góra (the Jewish Hill).
The Jewish cemetery in Barlinek was established at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. It lies on an extensive rise called Żydowska Góra (the Jewish Hill).
During the Second World War the cemetery was not destroyed. It was devastated only in the post-war years. Elements of individual matzevot, that is Jewish gravestones, have survived to this day.
The site remains a place of remembrance of the town's former Jewish community. It is worth checking the state of upkeep and the accessibility of the site with the town office. Barlinek also has the Regional Museum, where you can find out about the history of the town.
