A disused Jewish cemetery in Moryń, founded around 1856 and used until 1944, devastated in the time of the Third Reich, with eight surviving gravestones and a plaque of 2006.
The Jewish cemetery in Moryń is a disused religious cemetery. According to the entry it was founded around 1856 and used until 1944. A commemorative plaque of 2006 speaks of a cemetery from the early 19th century, so the exact beginning of the necropolis remains uncertain.
The cemetery was devastated in the time of the Third Reich. Eight gravestones have survived, along with a pre-burial house in which burials were once prepared, which is now a residential building.
On 31 May 2006 a commemorative plaque with an inscription in three languages, Hebrew, Polish and German, was unveiled at the cemetery. It states that Jews from Moryń are buried here. The surviving matzevot (gravestones) were also restored. The area of half a hectare is enclosed by a stone wall.
